The MoonshotMastery Academy

SHELF I · ROUTE · 4 COURSES

“I want to learn the sky properly, in order, before I spend money on a telescope.”

The First Nights Route

Constellations, binoculars, the Moon and keeping a log, taken in that order across a year of seasons, so each new course starts from a sky you already know.

Questions about this route

What do I need before I start?

Your eyes, Binoculars. Nothing has to be bought in advance: the first course opens with what to choose and why.

How long will it take me?

There are 148 lessons, 24 h 47 min of video in all. At about 3 hours a week that is roughly 9 weeks, but the pace is yours: clear nights decide more than the calendar.

How long can I watch it, and is there a tutor?

You can stream every lesson for 18 months from when access starts. The lessons are recorded: there is no live tutor and no marking, and the videos cannot be downloaded.
